Oceania Cruises President Frank Del Rio Jr to step down

Company founder's son departs after two years in role

Oceania Cruises President Frank Del Rio Jr will step down from his role after just over two years.

He started his career in the cruise industry in 2003 as one of the first employees at Oceania Cruises, before rejoining the company in 2022 as Chief Sales and Marketing Officer following a hiatus from the sector.

Del Rio Jr succeeded former Oceania Cruises President Howard Sherman in January 2022.

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Chief Luxury Officer Jason Montague thanked Del Rio Jr and his father, the company’s founder, for their “enduring legacy” on Oceania Cruises and the broader industry.

Montague said: “I want to personally thank Frank for his outstanding stewardship of the brand, positioning it for an incredibly bright future, and for assembling an exceptional leadership team.”

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings appointed Montague in the new role of Chief Luxury Officer in January 2024 to oversee the expansion of the company’s premium brands, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises. The new leadership structure saw Del Rio Jr report into Montague.

Regent President Andrea DeMarco also stepped down on 4 March 2025 following a transitional period establishing the new company structure.
