Abu Dhabi carrier welcomed 1.6 million guests with expanding network and fleet
Etihad Airways saw strong passenger numbers in February 2025, with 1.6 million people flying during the month.
That represents year-on-year growth of 14%, while passenger loads factor was 89%.
This follows record profits for the UAE national carrier in 2024, reaching US$476 million with passenger numbers rising 32% on 2023 to reach 18.5 million.
Etihad’s CEO Antonoaldo Neves said he was pleased with the growth so far in 2025 as the airline prepares to launch 14 new routes and edges closer to the magic milestone of having 100 aircraft in the fleet, which currently stands at 98, up from 89 a year ago.

There will be a new service between Abu Dhabi and Sochi, the Black Sea resort in Russia, launching on 29 May 2025.
The airline is also increasing its yet-to-launch service to the US city of Atlanta, beginning with four weekly flights from 2 July 2025 then daily from 1 November.
Operations to Milan in Italy are being expanded, with a third daily flight from 1 November 2025.
Other destinations being added to the network include Warsaw and Prague (June), Al Alamein (July), Taipei (September), Medan, Phnom Penh and Krabi (October), and Tunis, Chiang Mai, Hong Kong, Hanoi and Algiers (November).
